Casted polyester, pigments, steel, photographic fragment from the renovation and building of the Café Orka la Rose in Amsterdam, during the 1980s. Permission to work with the photographic material has been given by the IHLIA LGBTI Archive in Amsterdam.
Café Orka la Rose was started by a lesbian feminist group of squatters that built their own bar and collective where they could live and work together. The photographer is unknown, but the original photograph comes from the Lesbian Archive in Amsterdam, which has later become part of the IHLIA LGBTI Archive.
